For the second year running, the influential publication has chosen Baddeley Brothers to create the bespoke duplexed invitations and hand cut envelopes, using the highest quality Fedrigoni Old Mill Bianco paper and card.
A film crew was also deployed to the workshop floor to film the intricate blind embossing, letterpress and die-stamping techniques as well as the skilful cutting and folding processes. The beautifully shot and edited film venerates the traditional manufacturing methods and will be shown as part of the Wallpaper* Handmade exhibition, part of Milan’s international design fair and can be found at www.wallpaper.com/video .
Charles Pertwee commented: “It’s wonderful to be chosen again by Wallpaper* to produce these beautiful invites and envelopes and we were very keen to work with them again. It’s important to both companies that the materials and workmanship are of the highest quality, and I’m delighted that they were inspired to create a new film or this year’s trendsetting exhibition to show the craftsmanship involved in the creation of their invites and envelopes.”
Billed as Wallpaper* Handmade’s most ambitious project to date, the exhibition brings together together some of the world’s leading designers, craftsmen and manufacturers to produce unique furniture, fittings, foodstuffs and fashion. The film will be on display from 17 – 22 April 2012.
